How to program a garage door opener
An electric garage door opener can be opened in more than one way. There’s generally a button hard-wired to the opener located by an interior door of the house near the garage area. There may also be one located near the exterior area of the garage door which would usually require some type of password activated code to allow access. You would follow the easy instructions on the unit to set up your unique password which, once entered into the keypad, would allow the door opener to operate.
You will also have remote, hand-held openers that can be attached to the window visor in your car. These hand-held’s are already programmed to be compatible with your opener. You may even have a device installed in your car that allows for a wireless connection to your door opener. You would want to refer to the owner’s manual for your specific vehicle for step-by-step instructions. Basically, you just have to hold a certain button on the garage door opener or one of its components while activating a button on your car at the same time and for a certain amount of time allowing the two systems to communicate and sync.
